The Reluctant Model

My poor husband..haha. The things I put him through. Most recently, I was working on a custom ordered crochet beard hat, and I needed him to try it on to make sure I had the correct size. He paused in his book, put the hat on and went back to reading. “Smile!”, I shouted, as I snapped a picture. “What? You never told me you were taking a picture!” he grumbled. Oh well…he got over it quickly and went back to reading. Here’s the photographic proof… One of the things… Read more The Reluctant Model

Hello again…

It’s recently come to my attention (i.e., I stumbled across my own blog in a search engine. Imagine that!) that I’ve been neglecting to post here. Poor, neglected blog! Life has been busy and sadly gotten in the way of writing, but hopefully that’ll all change soon. New-ish updates? Well, I’ve sold a lot of items, added a lot of items and *gasp* made a lot of items! Here are some of my favorites… Of course, you can find these, and more, at CraftyGirl Merchandise 🙂 More to come later!

CraftyGirl’s First (and Second!) Sale

After waiting, and waiting, for a sale on my Etsy shop, I was finally rewarded last night. Not by one sale..but by two! Both of my vintage fabric panels sold last night, and I couldn’t be happier. I believe my initial reaction was a lot of jumping up and down, and trying not to make a lot of noise so I wouldn’t wake my neighbors up 🙂 Here’s hoping there are a lot more sales in the future! Feel free to check out my shop here 🙂

Newest Item

Our newest item in the shop is this gorgeous Shades of Blue Adult Sized Scarf. 44 inches long and 5 inches wide, this comfortable, cozy scarf is perfect for cold winter days. You can find it here, as well as all of our other stock!

CraftyGirl’s Pick of the Week

Out of all of the projects I’ve worked on, I will admit: I have favorites. Being my creations…much like children…I feel like I shouldn’t play favorites, but..oh well =) CraftyGirl’s Pick of the Week is…. The Rainbow Twist Crocheted Newborn Hat! I  have to admit, this was one of my favorite projects to work on..It’s so colorful! Out of all of the yarns I’ve worked with before, this one was definitely the most eye-catching. It took me a while to decide what to make with it, and then I finally… Read more CraftyGirl’s Pick of the Week

CraftyGirl: A day in the life

Sometimes it’s hard to manage daily life, while trying to constantly come up with new colors and styles of products…or even new products entirely! But if I can manage for the business side and the homemaker side to coexist peacefully on one given day, it looks a little something like…today! Today has been a little out of the usual, due to waiting on some test results for my husband’s CT scan, but otherwise, pretty productive! I’ve edited listings, added new products, done some advertising and worked on an adorable scarf,… Read more CraftyGirl: A day in the life

The Origins of CraftyGirl

CraftyGirl Merchandise was a spark…an idea that played around in my mind for a while and started to come to fruition in September of 2012. I eagerly opened an Etsy shop…and then was overwhelmed! Fast forward to June of 2013, when I reopened the shop and started listing more items. Slowly, but surely, I’m filling up my shop with my handmade little treasures (and a few vintage pieces along the way!). Arts and crafts have always been a passion of mine, almost as much so as cooking. However, my local… Read more The Origins of CraftyGirl
